Most semiconductor VCSEL companies outsource wafer growth and prefer to do the packaging and etching in house. Wafer vendors (MBE growers) can be found overseas or in the US. There are several companies based in CA and on the East Coast. The wiring part of packaging can also be outsourced to companies such as IBM and TSMC. |
